Cassine x Studio V.

Cassine is a multicultural fusion fashion brand inspired by Kelly’s heritage and the multicultural island country of Mauritius.

The collection was created inspired by the history of slavery in Mauritius, how the dialect of our mother tongue was created and the concoction of ethnicities which made up the Mauritian population. Kelly drew her inspiration from the Victorian era, using childhood film references such as The Labyrinth, The Neverending Story, The Princess Bride, Dune, and many 80s fantasy movies. Even though Kelly, the designer, was born in 1993 she loved everything about the 80s as this was her mother’s favourite era. Thus she took a lot of inspiration from this as well as from British historical architecture and castles. Click here to visit the Cassine website.
